Kevan Hall Spring 2008 LAFW Show
Kevan Hall always puts on a fantastic show for his faithful Los Angeles buyers and clients. For Spring 2008, he had an African themed show that went the extra step of distributing a flyer promoting African charities. Of minor importance: the flyer used Photomezzo's shot from Fall 2007 (look #48); of major importance: click on the image to see how you can participate.
Los Angeles Fashion Week
LAFW almost stretches throughout October with offsite shows followed by a week at Smashbox and then several California Mart shows. The theme this season was "Eco". For example, shot the Linda Loudermilk show at the super eco-friendly BP gas station on the corner of Olympic and Roberston. Best show was Junker held in the middle of the street in downtown LA that was broken up by the cops--probably a first for a fashion show.
New York Fashion Week
Mostly shot backstage both in the tents and offsite. Shows included Betsy Johnson and DVF. My favorite, Heatherette was offsite this season and oddly well organized. Total number of shows presented was over 150 for the week. What a fantastic courtesy when Mercedes Benz runs busses from off site shows back to the tents--especially during the taxi strike.

Amsterdam International Fashion Week
AIFW is probably the best produced regional fashion week in the world with a full week of runway shows, trade events, lectures and parties. For Spring 2008, AIFW had a miniature Bryant Park in Museumplein with shows running in specially constructed tents. Still no Viktor & Rolf even though their offices overlook Museumplein.
World Bodypainting Festival
Dropped by the World Bodypainting Festival on the way to shooting Amsterdam Fashion Week (via the Venice Biennale). Bodypainters from 35 countries attend the 3-day festival. Photomezzo donated its 2006 WBPF Photo Award prize money to UK artist Carolyn Roper so she could make it back to this year's event. Which she won.
